🚀 Early access: get your tickets to my EP launch & vinyl before anyone else!
My new song "Little River" is out now
“Little River”, the first song from my new EP Cloud Walking, is out now for you to listen to on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and beyond! If you like the song, please do add it to your playlists and share it with friends.
As a special thank you for being a part of my newsletter community, I wanted to give you the chance to book tickets to my London EP launch and pre-order the Cloud Walking vinyl before anyone else (I won’t be announcing these on social media until next week).
The EP launch will be a cozy, intimate event at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses at 5pm on Sunday 1st December. Picture fairy lights, botanical drinks and nature-inspired folk music. It’d be lovely to see you there.
Or if you’re based in or near Bristol, alongside folk singer Sam Lee I’ll be supporting Erland Cooper at Bristol Beacon on Friday 29th November for an evening celebrating music and nature. Find out more and book tickets here.
Behind the song “Little River”
“Little River” and the full EP, Cloud Walking, draws deeply from my experiences on an expedition into Scotland's Cairngorm Mountains, retracing the footsteps of pioneering Scottish nature writer Nan Shepherd (1893-1981).
In September 2023, I joined eight women on a four-day expedition through the Cairngorms as part of The Following Nan Project, inspired by Nan Shepherd’s seminal work The Living Mountain. We hiked, camped and embraced Shepherd’s philosophy of slow exploration. These experiences shaped Cloud Walking, which blends folk-inspired harmonies, chamber pop instrumentation, and field recordings I captured during the journey.
“Little River” is a tale of getting lost in the mountains and the conflicting feelings of longing for home while wanting the moment to last.
