Hello! I wanted to share a few updates on things I’ve been working on recently - from new music to upcoming events, as well as a summer discount on my vinyls at the end. I’d love for you to have a listen, come along to an event or share these updates with someone who might enjoy them.
Listen to my new song A Seal Called Noon
This song was written for Strangers on a Bench, a podcast by songwriter Tom Rosenthal. Each episode, Tom approaches a stranger (on a bench!) and asks if they’d be up for a chat. What follows are beautifully meandering conversations, which are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always thoughtful.
A Seal Called Noon responds to episode 40 of the podcast, in which Tom and a stranger spot a seal in the sea, near to where they’re sitting. They decide to name it Noon, a character who continues to pop up throughout the episode as the stranger talks about companionship, family dynamics and their longing for a simple life.
(Written, sung, produced by me. With pedal steel guitar from Jake Card.)
Come along to these events
Saturday 5th July - Sacred Music Festival, Stroud
I’ll be presenting The Sounds of King’s Cross - my spatial sound installation about urban nature, commissioned by Kings Place. My band and I will then be performing a live set, with folk-inspired harmonies and environmental sound.
Wednesday 23rd July - In The Dark: Hidden Sounds, Dalston, London
I’m hosting an evening with In The Dark at Dalston Curve Garden. Come along to hear a variety of creative audio pieces about the noises we miss or aren’t meant to hear - from nature’s secret frequencies to imagined soundscapes. I’ll be curating the evening with the help of Talia Augustidis, and performing a live piece.
Saturday 26th July - Deer Shed Festival, North Yorkshire (weekend festival)
I’m playing a set with my band on the Saturday, and running two field recording workshops across the weekend. The workshops will be a chance to explore listening more deeply and experimenting with capturing the sounds of the festival environment and its surrounding wildlife. Whether you’re a beginner or have recorded before, everyone’s welcome to join.
Pre-save Return of the White-Tailed Eagle
I’ve written a new song for the RSPB’s upcoming film celebrating 50 years since the return of the white-tailed eagle to the UK. These incredible birds went extinct here around 250 years ago, but thanks to conservation efforts, they’re back.

Away from home for an extended period, caretaking my mom, and I have become a person who seeks out shady public benches. How timely for me is your new song.
